Many people are counterproductive when it comes to their weight loss goals and don’t even know it…especially women. We up our cardio (which in itself is VERY important) and cut some calories but then we don’t strength train to at least keep the muscle mass we have. Muscle is necessary to keep your body using fat as fuel. Think of it this way…your metabolism is a fire and muscle is the wood. Without much wood, the fire will continue to get smaller and eventually burn out…add more muscle and the fire gets bigger. Woo hoo, that means you will either lose body fat or eat more…win, win!
